Our MissionThe Nashua Dog Park strives to promote the health, safety and welfare of Nashua area canines through a safe and secure off-leash dog park. We recognize that companion dogs, when offered opportunities to expend energy and socialize, contribute to the safety of the community and enhance the quality of life for their caregivers. We also seek to share the importance of responsible dog ownership through the dog park and interaction with the community. We believe this will be achieved through the public use of a dog park facility and the camaraderie of Nashua area dog enthusiasts.
About the Nashua Dog ParkIn 2004, local dog owners began meeting on Sunday mornings to exercise and socialize their dogs. As attendance grew, members of the group began looking for an established site for the playgroup. In 2005, the Nashua Dog Owners Group was formed as an independent, all-volunteer non-profit 501(c)(3) organization. While the search for a permanent site continued, through the exceptional kindness of the Bellavance family, members met on Sunday mornings at the Bellavance Beverage Company property. This continued through the Fall of 2012. In the meantime, in the Fall of 2011, we entered into an agreement to lease land from the City of Nashua. In the Spring 2012, site preparation commenced and the fence was installed. In December 2012, the Nashua Dog Park was officially established at One Groton Road.
Today, the group is dedicated to the ongoing maintenance and development of a permanent, safe and secure off-leash dog park. The park was built with private funding and it is self-funded and maintained by its members. |
